Applicants are invited to fill fifteen (15) posts for Chief Officers in the County Government of Nyandarua:

 

Terms of Service: Three (3) years contract

Grade   : CPSB 03:  The salary and benefits payable are as determined by Salaries and Remuneration Commission

 

  1. CHIEF OFFICER: ECONOMIC PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT (1) POST

 

      Requirements for Appointment:

  i)    Be a Kenyan citizen;

  ii)   Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  iii)  Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;

  iv)  Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Development Studies, Actuarial Sciences; Economics, Economic Planning,           Statistics, Strategic Planning, Business Administration or in any other closely related field. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  v)   Have experience in Integrated Strategic Planning and project rationalization;

  vi)  Demonstrate thorough understanding of National and County development objectives;

  vii) Be conversant with National and County Government Revenue Sources;

  viii)Be conversant with laws relating to Economic Planning and Development; and

  ix)  Be conversant with Monitoring and Evaluation concept and implementation tools.

 

     Duties and Responsibilities

 

    i)  Management of Economic Planning Department;

    ii) Setup and manage County Statistic Bureau;

   iii) Devising strategies for sustained County Integrated Development Plan by,

         a) Institutionalization of Public Participation in entire County Budgetary Cycle, and

         b) Implementation of economic planning policies that would trigger County Double-Digit Economic Growth;

   iv) Align County CIPD objectives with National Vision 2030; and

   v) Develop monitoring and evaluation assessment matrix for County programs and projects.

 

               2. CHIEF OFFICER: FINANCE

  Requirements for Appointment

 

   i)  Be a Kenyan citizen;

  ii)  Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  iii) Demonstrate leadership and  financial Management skills;

  iv) Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas:

      Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Financial Management, Banking, Business Administration, Commerce, or any other closely related field. A Master’s         Degree will be an added advantage.

  v)  Must be a holder of CPA (K) or its equivalent;

 vi)  Be conversant with National and County Government revenue sources;

 vii) Be conversant with tax management;

 viii) Be conversant with laws relating to Financial Management; and

 ix)  Have excellent skills in Computer operations and accounting packages and good understanding of the IFMIS environment.

       Duties and Responsibilities

 i)   Management of Finance Department;

 ii)  Prepare County Budget, Financial Management and Accounting;

 iii) Mobilization of County Revenue and Maximization of resources utilization;

 iv) Inspire and sustain County Economic growth;

 v)  Institute Integrated Financial Management Systems so that all sectors of the County are updated regularly; and

 vi) Be a Member of Building Plans approving team.

   3. CHIEF OFFICER: EDUCATION, GENDER AFFAIRS, CULTURE AND SOCIAL SERVICES (1) POST

     Requirements for Appointment

  i)  Be a Kenyan citizen;

  ii)  Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  iii) Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;

  iv) Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Education, Sociology, Psychology, Guidance and Counselling, and in any       other closely related area. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  v) Ability to identify and develop talents; and

  vi) Knowledge in Gender and Cultural issues.

 

      Duties and Responsibilities

   i)  Institutionalize affirmative action in the County;

   ii) Co-ordinate Pre-primary education, youth polytechnics, home craft centres and childcare facilities;

   iii) Identify County Cultural resources to enhance cultural heritage;

   iv)  Implement County Alcohol and Beverages Control Act;

   v)   Inculcate Patriotism and National Unity right from ECDE;  

   vi)  Promote family values;

   vii)  Design programmes that shall upgrade standards of Youth  Polytechnics and Home Crafts to produce quality craftsmen;

  viii)  Design programmes and projects that shall nurture child development and particularly, ensure every child attends school to improve retention             and transition to the next level;

   ix)  Develop strategies and programmes to provide better ECDE training and infrastructure, and reintroduce a school feeding programme to increase enrolment and health; 

   x)  To set up libraries at Sub-county level to encourage a reading culture;

  xi)  Reinvigorate the diminishing influence of the elders within and beyond the County by forming a vetted Council of Elders;

  xii) Establish income generating ventures run by youth, women or other interest groups; 

  xiii) Build a cultural and community multi-purpose hall in every Ward to promote culture, creative arts, traditions, and heritage;

  xiv) Develop a policy framework to inculcate an industrious culture, which ensures every adult is engaged in income generating activities thus improving quality of life;

   xv) Locate and characterize cultural resources (archaeological, paleontological, historical, cultural, and landmarks);

  xvi) Promote linkages between National and County functions in this Sector;

 xvii) Curb illicit brews and eliminate drug and substance abuse in cooperation with NACADA;

 xviii) Control of drugs and pornography; and

  xix)  Inculcate culture change by for example implementing Article 10 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 to its fullest.

 

                             4. CHIEF OFFICER: YOUTH, SPORTS AND THE ARTS (1) POST

    Requirements for Appointment

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen aged 35 years and below;

  2. Have experience for at least five (5) years;

  3.  Demonstrate Leadership and Financial Management Skills;

  4.  Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Sociology, Education, Performing Arts, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Psychology, Sociology, Counselling, or any other closely related area.  A Master’s *9250Degree will be an added advantage.

  5.  Ability to identify and develop talents;

  6.  Have knowledge, experience, and a distinguished career of not less than three (3) years in youth, sports and the arts field and should be aged between 25 and 35 years; and

  7. Ability to articulate Health Living culture

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage sports and multi-purpose facilities in every Sub -County to promote creative arts, and preserve traditions and heritage;

  2. Implement designed policy on self-employment;

  3. Institutionalize Sports as an entrepreneurship and exercise activities to enhance Healthy Living;

  4. Benchmark with renown International Sports Associations and Academies for purposes of establishing and manage Talent Academy;

  5. Establish high altitude athletic training academy in the County;

  6. Develop linkages between sports and tourism circuits to attract regional and international sportsmanship and generate incomes in the process;

  7. Mainstreaming youth development;

  8. Design programmes and projects for placing youth and middle aged groups into viable economic activities;

  9. Promote Nyandarua to become a place of choice for sporting tourism; and

  10. Design strategies and programs using sporting activities as agents of unity and peace building.

     5. CHIEF OFFICER: HEALTH SERVICES (1) POST

 

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

  2. Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  3. Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;

  4. Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Environmental Heath, Community Health and Nutrition or in a closely related area. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  5. Ability to integrate health service delivery and planning to promote sustainable health care; and

  6. Ability to programme Civic Education in promotive and preventive health care that will profoundly reduce the cost of curative health in the long run.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage County health and extension services;

  2.  Create awareness and drive processes for Promotive and Preventive health care through linkages with other Departments;

  3. Licensing and control of undertaking that sell food to the public;

  4. Manage county ambulance services;

  5. Create a Health Policy guided by needs assessment to provide targeted medical care;

  6. Design strategies to achieve health care to National and International Standards;

  7. Design sustainable Civic Education towards Healthy Living;

  8. Develop and implement a drug management system in hospitals up to dispensaries to track distribution and accountability;

  9. Create awareness and support enrolment into the NHIF scheme by all County residents with a subsidised health care program for the aged and the vulnerable;

  10. Ensure retention of qualified medical practitioners in all health facilities within the County;

  11. Provide needy communities with rehabilitation services;

  12. Ensure adequate provision of medical supplies and diagnostic equipment;

  13. Manage public cemeteries, funeral parlours, and crematoria; and

  14. Be a Member of Building Plans approving team.

                6. CHIEF OFFICER: TRANSPORT AND ENERGY (1) POST

 

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

  2. Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  3. Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;

  4. Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Logistics, or any other closely related area. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  5. Have a working understanding of structural design, construction, and maintenance requirements for buildings and other civil works.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop strategies to manage County transport systems including county roads, street light, traffic and parking, provide and maintain roads furniture, and public road transport;

  2. Construct and maintain County roads;

  3. Explore the possibility of the county to facilitate generation of green energy e.g. hydro, solar and wind;

  4. Develop strategies to produce energy from solid waste e.g. biogas, briquettes from solid wastes such as agricultural and forestry wastes;

  5. Liaise with agencies that deal with electricity and gas reticulation and energy regulations;

  6. Develop Nyandarua Transport Infrastructure Master Plan covering roads, rail and air connectivity;

  7. Implement where applicable, Rules and Regulations in the Traffic; Act;

  8. Be responsible for fleet management of County Government vehicles, plant, and equipment;

  9. Mobilizing financial resources for County-specific energy projects;

  10. Implementation of County specific policies on electricity and renewable energy;

  11. Implementation of policies on road works, transportation, non motorized transport, quality standards, construction materials, and mechanical repair services;

  12. Develop policies and strategies for involving the youth and vulnerable middle-aged groups as major contractors in minor roads and public works;

  13. Promote holistic approach for involving farmers and land owners in planning road network, including drainage systems;

  14. Open landlocked areas e.g. Geta and Githioro Wards and reclaim all encroached road reserves; and

  15. Be a Member of Building Plans approving team.

            7. CHIEF OFFICER: PUBLIC WORKS (1) POST

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

  2. Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  3. Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;

  4. Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveyor, Construction Engineering, Architecture Engineering, or any other closely related area. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  5. Understands structural design, construction and maintenance requirements for buildings and other civil works.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Implementation of policies and guidelines in the provision of construction and maintenance of all public works in the County;

  2. Implementation of policies in construction of government buildings;

  3. Supervise construction works for government buildings;

  4. Implementation of policies and guidelines in the maintenance and rehabilitation of government buildings and storm water management systems in built up areas;

  5. Develop policies and strategies for involving the youth and vulnerable middle-aged groups as major contractors in minor roads and public works;

  6. Oversee timely construction of County public utilities to conform to relevant Regulations and Standards;

  7. Implementation of policies and guidelines in the provision of mechanical and electrical building services for government buildings in the County; and

  8. Be a Member of Building Plans approving team.

 

   8.  CHIEF OFFICER: PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND ICT (1) POST

 

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

  2. Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  3. Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;      

  4. Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Arts, Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Strategic Management, Community Development, Political Science, Linguistics, Law or in any other closely related area. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement transformative strategies within the Public Administration;

  2. Enhance Capacity Building in the County Public Service

  3. Develop strategies for in-service staff training for skills up-grading;

  4. Formulate and implement County Policies to manage and improve service delivery in all the Sub-County Administration Units including Enforcement Unit;

  5. Work with stakeholders to facilitate availability of necessary ICT infrastructure that include Fibre Optic, VIRSAT, WAN, etc;

  6. Digitize, automate, and maintain equipment for delivery of essential services of the County such as revenue collection, licensing, planning and development, to name a few;

  7. Coordinate interdepartmental and county ICT services;

  8. Provision of firefighting service and disaster management;

  9. Coordinate civic education and public participation; and

  10. Prepare periodic reports and linkages with the Office of the County Secretary.

 

       9. CHIEF OFFICER: LANDS, HOUSING AND PHYSICAL PLANNING (1) POST

 

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

  2. Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  3. Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;

  4. Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in either Land Economics or Physical Planning, or in any other closely related area. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  5. Ability to optimize utilization of land as a scarce resource; and

  6. Ability to develop County Townships to be Nodal Economic Growth Centres.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversee survey and registration of all public purpose utilities;

  2. Fast-track titling of public and private land and recovery of illegally acquired land;

  3. Ensure increased housing stock through Public Private Partnership;

  4. Prepare Land Use Master Plan Zoning for the County;

  5. Facilitate Best Practice in Design of Buildings and enforce relevant Legislation (Building Code, Physical Planning, etc);

  6. Design programs and projects that will ensure sustainable and economical utilization of idle land;

  7. Overseeing the implementation of the National Building Regulations;

  8. Implementation of real estate management policies and strategies;

  9. Prepare and maintain plans of property boundaries and fencing in support of land registration;

  10. Implementation of social and physical infrastructure policies and strategies for housing and undertaking the County housing surveys and statistics;

  11. Oversee land surveying and mapping;

  12. Undertake Urban and Regional Planning;

  13. Work with other Departments in preparation of Environmental and Development Plans; and

  14. Be a Member of Building Plans approving team.

 

 

               10. CHIEF OFFICER: AGRICULTURE (1) POST

 

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

  2. Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  3. Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;

  4. Be in possession of a Bachelor’s  Degree in any of the following areas: Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, General Agriculture, Horticulture, or any other closely related area;

  5. Ability to integrate this sector’s planning activities with the others in the County for maximization of food security, value chain, marketing and Healthy Living. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  6. Proven ability to apply systems approach in Agricultural Production.

  

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Promote integrated holistic Research and Extension Service that addresses Crop Production, Value Addition (agro processing), and Marketing, so as to move farmers from subsistence to commercial farming;

  2. Design programs that shall make Crop Husbandry a sustainable economic activity of choice and major employment and income generating sector;

  3. Inculcate change management such that the youth and unemployed middle aged citizens can take up farming as a viable economic activity;

  4. Design programmes and projects that will ensure sustainable and economical utilization of idle land;

  5. Establish cold storage, warehousing, and drying silos to cater for seasonality, regulate demand and supply of the farm produce and protect farmers from seasonal price fluctuations;

  6. Establish benchmarked quality control, weights and measures to standardize packaging of local produce;

  7. Enhance contracted farming with guaranteed markets and use mechanization starting with County tractor hire services that will charge for farm operation services at cost;

  8. Introduce high value crops to complement existing food crops;

  9. Enhance access to farm inputs and subsidized services like fertilizer, high breed seeds, soil testing;

  10. Advise farmers on best practices in crop protection;

  11. Diversify farming through collaboration with research institutions such as KEPHIS to commercialize new and adapted crop breed;

  12. Encourage tillage practices that enhance soil and water conservation and environment protection in accordance with county and national government policies;

  13. Encourage innovative crop production technologies such as green house and hydroponic;

  14. Give advisory on crop zoning in the county in accordance with comparative advantage;

  15. Link with National Agricultural Research Stations; and

  16. All in all, develop strategies to ensure sustained food security and excess for export.

 

                 11. CHIEF OFFICER: LIVESTOCK AND FISHERIES (1) POST

 

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

  2. Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  3. Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;

  4. Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Animal Production, Agricultural Economics, Veterinary Sciences, General Agriculture, or any other closely related area.  A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  5. Ability to integrate this sector’s planning activities with the others in the County for maximization of food security, value chain, marketing and Healthy Living. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  6. Proven ability to apply systems approach in Agricultural Production including crop production, livestock production, apiculture and aquaculture.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Increase Dairy Production through implementation of livestock husbandry and reproductive services including Artificial Insemination;

  2. Improve Livestock Health through disease surveillance and control in collaboration with relevant departments;

  3. Coordination of primary animal health care, including vaccination campaigns, veterinary services, animal control welfare which include licensing of dogs, facilities for the accommodation, care and burial of animals;

  4. Implement County livestock programmes and projects;

  5. Implementation of National and County policies on fisheries development;

  6. Provision of extension services in animal husbandry, fisheries and bee keeping;

  7. Enforcement of compliance with regulations and standards on fish quality;

  8. Ensure animal disease control, veterinary services, animal restrictive movement (movement permits) and animal welfare;

  9. Development and management of livestock holding grounds, livestock sale yards, quarantine fields, and abattoirs in the County; and

  10. Link with National Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Apiculture and Veterinary research stations.

 

​                         12.  CHIEF OFFICER: WATER AND ENVIRONMENT (1) POST

Requirements for Appointment

 

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

  2. Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  3. Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;

  4. Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Environmental Engineering, Bio Systems and Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning and Management, Civil Engineering, Biodiversity, Hydrology, or any other closely related area. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  5. Ability to integrate Soil and Water Conservation, Water Treatment and Supply, and Environmental Management; and

  6. Ability to design environmental conservation Action Plans for Nyandarua County which is already a National Gazetted Catchment Area.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement projects for establishment of water treatment facilities for water collected in dams or other open water harvesting systems;

  2. Coordinate large scale water banks that beef up water reserves for the County use and as commodity revenue earner through sale to other Counties;

  3. Improve existing water harvesting systems e.g. de-silting, protecting, and expanding dams, etc;

  4. Devise ways and means of encouraging domestic water harvesting;

  5. Develop sources of water and distribution systems for irrigation;

  6. Coordinate implementation of water rules, regulations and water dispute resolution mechanisms from the national water agencies in the county;

  7. Develop a Water and Sewerage Master Plan for the County;

  8. Provide leadership in ensuring provision of water and sanitation services;

  9. Develop a reliable water, sewerage and waste water systems for all urban areas;

  10. Liaise with national water agencies for funding to conserve the water towers and entire county which is a gazetted catchment area;

  11. Promote enforcement of Environmental Policies for sustainable development;

  12. Take the lead role in integrating environmental planning and development with the other departments and developers;

  13. Undertake action plans that shall ensure clean environment for communities in Nyandarua by controlling air pollution, noise pollution, other nuisances, and outdoor advertisements;

  14. Intensify strategies of access to clean water according to the National and International Standards;

  15. Ensure all major developments in the County undergo NEMA approved Socio-Economic and Environmental Impact Assessment; and

  16. Manage solid and liquid waste disposal.

 

                        13. CHIEF OFFICER: TOURISM AND NATURAL RESOURCES (1) POST

 

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

  2. Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  3. Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;

  4. Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Tourism, Marketing, Sociology, Financial Management, Economics, Business Administration, or any other closely related area. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  5. Understands and has hands-on experience in the dynamics of tourism and hospitality industry.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement County tourism development plans, programmes and projects;

  2. Develop integrated tourism models of partnerships between County Government and other interested stakeholders, especially in modern hotels and recreation facilities;

  3. Develop programmes for attracting tourism investments in the County;

  4. Promote enforcement of legislations and policies for increasing tree cover and sustainable exploitation of natural resources;

  5. Apply Systems approach to design well-knit inter-relationships between this sector and the rest of the County sectors to achieve overall sustainable development;

  6. Develop strategies to reduce usage of firewood, charcoal, and hydrocarbons for cooking and lighting (currently at 76%) to green energy;

  7. Developing Lake Ol Bollosat as an important economic tourist attraction site and also exploitation of natural resources therein;

  8. Solicit public-private partnership arrangements on existing tourist sites such as Aberdares Moorland, Karuru Falls, Happy Valley, etc; and

  9. Take a lead role in developing Action Plans that shall ensure Nyandarua attains at least 10% forest cover

 

                          14. CHIEF OFFICER: TRADE AND INDUSTRIALIZATION (1) POST

 

Requirements for Appointment

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

  2. Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  3. Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;

  4. Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Marketing, Business Administration, Financial Management, Economics, Sociology, Banking, Entrepreneurship, or any other closely related area. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  5. Ability to integrate sectoral planning to promote enterprise development.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Take a lead role in developing strategies to encourage County, National and International investors to set up industries in Nyandarua;

  2. Develop integrated industrial models of partnerships between County Government and other interested stakeholders;

  3. Manage County Trade Fund to assist small scale industries;

  4. Help the County to develop advisory production policies and operations so that the industries can be viable;

  5. Coordinate trade fares, investment conferences, and exchange programs in commerce, trade and industries, and co-host a vibrant Nyandarua Annual Show;

  6. Work closely with existing institutions which promote industrialization in Kenya;

  7. Establish local markets to encourage trade in local products and services and explore avenues for export;

  8. Design programmes and projects that shall trigger maximum utilization of untapped resources for accelerated economic growth;

  9. Promote entrepreneurship culture so as to enhance self-employment and income generation;

  10. Upscale Value Chain of County Produce;

  11. Encourage Agro-processing and value addition to drive industrialization and manufacturing sectors using appropriate technology;

  12. Develop policies and programmes for establishment of cottage industries;

  13. Provide modalities for talent identification, innovation, incubation, and training services for Small and Medium Enterprises and setting up Small and Medium Enterprise Departments in retail and manufacturing enterprises;

  14. Coordinate establishment of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and Industrial Parks focusing on manufacturing in partnership with KENIVEST, KAM, ICDC, KIE, Export Promotion Council and investors;

  15. Accomplish expected targets in production of goods and services in this sector;

  16. Advise the County Government on Trade Barriers for purposes of legislation if need be; and

  17. Inspection of Weights and Measures used by traders.

 

 15. CHIEF OFFICER: CO-OPERATIVES DEVELOPMENT (1) POST

Requirements for Appointment

 

  1. Be a Kenyan citizen;

  2. Have experience for at least fifteen (15) years of which five (5)   years should be in a senior position in the Public or Private Sector;

  3. Demonstrate leadership and financial Management skills;

  4. Be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas: Cooperative Development, Business Administration, Trade and Development, Economics, Commerce, Banking, Accounting, or any other closely related area. A Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.

  5. Ability to integrate sectoral planning to promote cooperatives development;

Duties and Responsibilities

  1.  Implement cooperative policies, standards and regulations;

  2. Implement strategies for promotion of cooperative movement;

  3. Promote value addition, processing and marketing in co-operatives;

  4. Promotion of co-operative savings and financing;

  5. Design initiatives (revive failed cooperatives, register new ones, and strengthen existing ones) to upscale viable Co-operative Societies Movements in the County;

  6. Promote entrepreneurship culture so as to enhance self-employment and income generation; and

  7. Expand the market base of Co-Operative Movement in Nyandarua to National and International Markets.
